A community that uses art of oneself/another to inspire, share and appreciate. It's been ever so delighting to get on tumblr at least once a day and find something that you can just connect to. It's a feeling of being understood. So simple, so easy, so wonderful! (i'm not trying to advertise).

As the subject has mostly been about 'daydreaming,' I thought these lyrics were rather fitting.

Life could very much be just a daydream. By each person viewed differently. I take that back. I think that if life were a daydream it would be a hell lot more pleasant to live. In one way it is more exciting to constantly be surprised by life. Yet the thought of living your daydream, sounds spectacular and so very magical. So the only little thing we can do is to try to live our daydreams every once in a while, you know, just to keep yourself sane. My thoughts are rather scattered but I mean, I'm only voicing my daydream :)

I wrote this a while back, but I thought that it would be important to post it here. 

I Want To Be Present In Your Future

One of the most beautiful and charitable things in life is making good friends. I'm talking about the friends you don't need to know long till you know that you will be friends for the rest of your lives. Of course that is hard to promise, but you just have that feeling where you want to be present in their future. The friends where you can expect to hang out with without asking. The kind that you can express every single emotion and no matter good or bad, they love you the same. I have those kind of friends. Though they are scattered throughout the world, my time with them has made our friendship strong enough to carry on. I miss each one of my best friends. I wish that I could be with each and every one of them. But somehow having this time of missing them really makes me realize the impact they have had on my life and how significant they are to me. I look forward to the day I see them all again, I love you (you know who you are).

Reminisce

	( intr ) to talk or write about old times, past experiences The distance my dutch grandparents would take to come see my family and I were clear signs to the fact to how much they loved us. I found it quite ordinary as a young girl. But honestly, who has their grandparents fly miles and miles just to see them? It happens, although it's not the most common thing out there. They came to India, Malaysia, Singapore and from a story I recently heard from my dad, they even smuggled bibles into China! I couldn't help to be just a little proud of the bravery they had to do that. My Opa (grandfather) was ever so loving, I still know and remember that now. When I reminisce about the summers we came back to visit (which would be once in the two or three years that we were away), he would pull me into his lap and tickle me till just before I would lose my breath. Another vivid memory is going over with him to the neighbors house to fry the typical saturday, delicious meal; fish! I remember eating 6 of those fish one saturday afternoon. Also a tradition was to eat 'rice de pap' as dessert. Warm cooked rice in milk with brown sugar, butter and a touch of cinnamon. My Opa would often tease me saying, 'Is that my grandson? Is that a boy? Nooo! That's my lieve (lovely) Stefanie!' He always got me with those jokes. I will also always admire how much faith and discipline he had. Though I miss him now, there are many happy times to reminisce upon. The love that I still feel from him and for him, keeps me carrying on. Ik hou van jou, Opa.

Soñar

soñar [despierto] =    to daydream


I have the most fantastic app on my iPod. Its called, wait for it . . . the dictionary! 
If internet is available, I get a lovely *POP* sound every morning notifying me of the selected word of the day! Both in spanish and in english. I also get, "the question of the day." It's so much fun! 
Today's spanish word really appealed to me: Soñar - to daydream. 
I'm the kind of person who often spends my time daydreaming. With little control that we have in the way that life plays itself out, I like to pretend that I am slightly more in power. So I daydream. I dream of what I will study, which is currently Marine Biology. I dream of where I will go to, to study Marine Biology. I dream of exciting things I will do when I'm living on my own. Such as taking climbing courses here (if I would ever live in Groningen):http://www.bjoeks.nl/index. 


Slowly my daydreams will grow from there and take me to places that I want to explore. The problem with wanting to travel is having the money to travel. So I'm hoping that being a marine biologist will take me to these places. I want to write, I want to take photographs, I want to research, I want to document, I want to change. 


Daydreams, daydreams. 


A wise teacher of mine once said,
"Set goals, 
Aim for them, 
Expect change." 


These may be extravagant things to daydream about. But for now I at least have an idea of what I want. It may change, but for right now I know what to aim for and its OK if it changes.

This is Where I Begin

One's thoughts can hardly be honestly composed down into words. Though the effort of translating thought into words is an art I'd like to call literature. This is what I would like to do; translate my thoughts into something that you can read, unlike my actual thoughts. Writing has often been what I would go back to when I was having a hard time. I've kept journals for as long as I know and each time I glaze over them, I'm enlightened with the thoughts I've had when I was younger. Many things that I would have forgotten if I would not have recorded them in pure simplicity of going through the stage of having a diary with a cute name such as 'Katie' for example.
I am a girl of only 16. Born and lived in the heights of the Himalaya's, India. Raised the next 9 years in Selangor, Malaysia. I was 7 when I thought that my life was so boring and ordinary. I thought it would take forever for me to turn 14. Now at every birthday, I double my age and see how fast it is all going to fly by. The summer of 2007 was where my hypothesis of my life was turned upside down. I moved to Salatiga, Indonesia. I spent the next 3 years there. Those 3 years where spent with many happy times yet also many tears. Learning times, learning times. I'm currently living in The Netherlands. I have many friends to love, my family around me & my whole life ahead of me. I hope to regularly share my thoughts, the adventure that I am on, will have and am planning. Anyone is welcomed to join in whatever way they can to be a part of something that I believe to be magnificent.
